Any passenger mobs in the boat at the time it disappears will also disappear, but it's unlikely that this needs to be independently addressed because it shouldn't happen anymore after the boat is fixed.Moving to various places along its recent path also works, at least sometimes. Reloading the world reliably makes the boat reappear.

It has been suggested several times that the boat reappears at some other location, possibly the location where it was boarded, and if you cause the chunk there to be loaded, the boat goes back to where it should be.

The behavior suggests a server/client desynchronization with respect to the boat's location. For example, you can't re-board it or break it.

The disappearance is probably more than a visual glitch, as you can't interact with the boat at the position where you disembarked.

Boats may disappear when you exit them.

Currently, the important facts regarding disappearing boats are as follows: The fix for mobs, however, seems to have made the boat issue more prominent. If you have a reproducible case of mobs disappearing with no boat involvement, please comment with the details. Release 1.17.30 applied a fix for this issue that seems to have fixed it for mobs, as the reports we've received since then only mention mobs disappearing as a result of being in boats that disappear.
